    To see

Now you know the right addresses.

Now let’s go to the must-see! Turkey is a beautiful country, full of history and Istanbul is also an incredible city in architecture, history and culture. It will amaze you as soon as you arrive. Visit, show, meeting; there is something for everyone!

Here is a non-exhaustive list of things to do and see in Istanbul:

  • Accompanied by a guide, meet a local family who will welcome you to share a local dish, symbol of the union of two cultures.

  • Private yacht trip on the Bosporus Strait. Once on the water, you can see the most beautiful monuments: the Dolmabahce and Beylerbeyi palaces, the Ciragan palace or the Rumeli fortress.

  • Discovery of the historic mosque of Sultanahmet or blue mosque. This grandiose and immense building is covered with magnificent Iznik blue tiles that fill its interior. If it was not necessary to draw among the visits the important splus to make, this one is not negligible.

  • Wander the aisles of one of Istanbul’s oldest markets, the book bazaar named Sahaflar Çarşısı.

  • Also stop at the Süleymaniye Mosque, whose architectural beauty and impressive height you will admire.

  • The Ortaköy Mosque, less imposing than his comrades, overlooks the Bosporus and is located in a lively neighbourhood with an invigorating atmosphere. She’s worth a look.

  • The Galata Tower offers a magnificent view of the city. Book a time during the day to visit this historic monument. We advise you to go there at sunset to enjoy an exceptional panorama while drinking a good tea.

  • Yere batan sarnıcı, an underground basilica to see absolutely. A jellyfish upside down is frozen in the stone, locked up here because we thought it carried misfortunes at the time.

  • Kapali carsi, the great bazaar of Istanbul: absorb the energy, bright colors and powerful aromas that emanate from exotic spices and other stands. Illuminated by a thousand fires, this bazaar is the occasion to make beautiful finds.

  • Finally, attend the Mevlevi Order ceremony, a magnificent one-hour show at the HodjaPash Cultural Centre. The 800-year-old show begins with a Turkish classical music concert and a seven-part Sema ceremony. You will be amazed to see the dervishes and the sheik turners taking their seats and praising the Prophet Mohammed while turning. Hypnotizing and wonderful, this show will not leave you indifferent.

We’re almost there. Now you know where to go. But a Globe-Setter needs to learn more about its destination. Here is the practical information to go to Istanbul in all serenity:

  • The currency is the Turkish lira. For info: 5 euros = 1 tl

  • 112 is the emergency number

  • There’s an hour gap between France and Turkey
