Mexico: Strolling on more than 3 miles of beach

Between forests and deserts, lively cities and pueblos, Mexico shines with its diversity: Mayan and Aztec archaeological sites, colonial cities, forests and canyons make this country an elusive and engaging enigma.

Mexico is incredibly rich in natural resources, a land of contrasts, bathed between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, and strong cultural identities forged over the centuries.

The Country
Between the two Americas, Mexico is a prime Latin destination. The remains of pre-Columbian civilizations and the many natural curiosities make the journey exciting and full of mysteries. In the footsteps of the Mayan and Aztec peoples, you will discover some of the best preserved and most beautiful archaeological sites in Latin America.

The City
Celestún is a picturesque coastal village that has been transformed by its pristine beaches into an ideal place for those fleeing mass tourism. Celestún was designated a wildlife reserve and protected area more than thirty years ago. Nature lovers will fall under the spell of Celestún, with the sight of the many birds that inhabit the sky. Here you will find vast beaches lined with coconut trees where you can enjoy the sun, sand and warm emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

XIXIM is a place of peace to free yourself from stress and discover the essential elements that give meaning to life. It is an ecological hotel, inspired by a Mayan village, whose main objective is to conserve and preserve 530 hectares of nature. Xixim is located on a white sandy beach more than 5 kilometres long facing the Gulf of Mexico, in the heart of the Celestún Biosphere Reserve.

We believe that the intensity of food and beverages depends on the attitude of excellence in service. Our food is a signature food with the Slow Food trend that gives the ingredients the right time to prepare them and the chef the right time to be inspired. Our menus have merged Mayan, Yucatecan, Mexican and international classic cuisines to create textures that are incorporated into the flavours and aromas of the fine spices in our orchard.

Legend has it that the Mayans used these sites to communicate with the gods… Dive into the magical waters of Mayab and enjoy the different landscapes that the cenotes can offer you. Inhabited by fish and birds, you will only find these places wrapped in mysticism in Yucatan. Connect your body, mind and soul, and let the gods purify you through their waters.

The visit first takes you to Uxmal, a jewel of Mayan architecture. The most remarkable buildings are the Magician’s Pyramid, the Convent of the Sisters and the Governor’s Palace. Afterwards you will enter the Mayan underground world, taking a delicious bath in the mystical waters of the cenotes. Its regional restaurant offers a varied menu of Yucatan specialities.
